Electric Stimulation

Supporting Muscle Recovery, Circulation, and Neuromuscular Re-education

How It Works

Electric stimulation therapy uses controlled electrical impulses to activate targeted muscle groups, nerve pathways, or soft tissues. These gentle currents are delivered through surface electrodes placed on the skin, prompting involuntary muscle contractions or sensory stimulation. Depending on the settings used, this therapy may help with muscle re-education, reducing pain perception, improving blood flow, and enhancing tissue healing.

When It's Recommended

Electric stimulation may be recommended as part of your recovery plan to support:

  • Muscular atrophy after periods of immobility

  • Soft tissue injuries or post-surgical rehab

  • Chronic muscle tension or spasm

  • Impaired circulation or localized swelling

  • Neuromuscular re-education following injury

  • Functional deficits related to nerve signaling

This modality is often paired with therapeutic exercise or manual therapy to enhance outcomes and promote long-term progress.

Treatment Experience

Most clients experience a mild tingling, pulsing, or gently buzzing sensation during treatment. Settings are always tailored to comfort level and therapeutic goals. Sessions are brief and performed under supervision by a licensed professional who monitors your response in real time.

Our Approach

At Maverick Health & Wellness, we use electric stimulation as part of an integrated treatment strategy, not as a standalone solution. When clinically appropriate, it's combined with other modalities such as stretching, exercise therapy, or manual care to help accelerate progress and improve outcomes. We focus on restoring function, reducing discomfort, and helping you move with more confidence.
